                                                                        Constitution-making timeline (link)

It took the framers of the Constituent Assembly two years, eleven months, and seventeen days to create and adopt the Constitution of India, 1950. The Constitution underwent many revisions and was subject to much debate during this time period. The framers ensured that the public and relevant experts had a chance to review and critique their efforts.

This worksheet requires students to match an event in the constitution-building process with the date on which it occurred. The CADIndia website can be used as a resource for the answers.

By solving this worksheet, students will learn about the timeline of the constitution-making process, and the various organs that took part in this process. The worksheet can also act as a springboard for discussions on the process of constitution building and the effort involved.
