Shri Mohanlal Saxena,
Minister Of Relief & Rehabilitation,
Government Of India, New Delhi

Ref;, Letter of 4th idem from The Secy, Govt Of India.

Dear Friend,

CAP 27.2

This is to thank you so much for your acknowledging my letters of the 10th & 25-the June and 10th July 48, giving some suggestions to meet with the reguler demand of the refugees which is infact a geniun and legitemate. The suggestions if carried out will work practically and would help the Government to stop making any state expences for the upliftment of tho[unclear]se who have suffered heavely for this Freedom. I am confident, during the present Session of The Parliament, my suggestions will be kept before the Honourable members who would pay their consideration to them.

CAP 27.4

Copy Forwarded to President Indian Parliament for perusal and necessary action. The suggestions in brief are;,-

  1. A collection with a name and style of The Price Of India’s Freedom may be made from all the inhabitants of IIIndia, Hindues, Muslmans, Sikhs, Parsies and Christians and may be distributed among the refugees against their registered proprty claim forms By this financial help the refugees can absorb themselves fully in the business of their own choice and thereby The Govt, can close the whole Ministry of R.&R. and advancement of loans to the refugees. At present The Govt, runs a number of Camps and offices for the refugees to carry on their work, but if this is done, the whole work can be stopped. This collection also can be made most easily as [unclear] ere this even in hope of the coming Freedom M/s Brila and others were paying huge sums and blank cheques and when the Freedom is really before us all in a naked shape and form, I am sure none would refuse to pay adequetly, ofcourse according to his status and income as The Price Of India’s Freedom.
  2. Absirption of all old congress workers in some or the other employment through a seprate Rehabilitation Bureau. It is a fact that many a people did not accept the Government jobs in the days of the Britishers due to their national ideas and proprt[unclear] worth millions of rupees was frozen by the xxxxx then Govt, on account of their taking part in the National Movements.

CAP 27.5

Now it is our Free India and we have our own people in power. They must see that all their colleauges are paid sufficiently as compensation of their sufferings. At present only the near and dear ones of big Guns in power are taken up on Fat salaries and those, who really deserve a little help and sympathy are ignored. All Ex-Service men and old Government Servants who helped the Britishers to rule over us for more than a century have seperate Center of their own for absorption, but our own who lost all their Kith and Kin and left all their hearth and home are turned down. This center would give them at least the same privilage the other x people enjoy and their demand can easily be met with as many of them actually have a very high merit in qualification and experience in addition to their hea[unclear] of Love and Sacrifice for our Motherland.

3.Will he very kindly care to read this and give his immediate attention to the abovepoin[unclear] A word of his openion in hhis connection will be appreciated very much.
