Now that FREEDOM is dawning on India and the masses are anxiously looking forth to the working of the Constituent Assembly in New Delhi, the common man-in-the-street does not find any vital change in the atmosphere around him. He finds the same old demoralised officials in every walk of life. He sees the same discourteous staff in essential services like the judiciary and police. Medical service continues to be almost out of reach for him. Education for his children is expensive as it used to be. Exploitation of man by man continues unchecked, as before. Non productive labour like that of the brokers and speculators remains permitted by the state. He cannot own the stocks of food and clothes which continue to be for the ‘selected few’. Thus for him all the fond hopes of swarajya and independence remain an idle dream. Let us all try for a real revolution in the country which should substantially improve lot of the common man in this country. And it is with this end in view that we are addressing these lines to you!
