32. (1) When a Bill has been passed by the Chambers, it shall be presented to the Governor-General, and the Governor – General shall in his discretion declare either that he assents in His Majesty’s name to the Bill, or that he withholds assent therefrom, or that he reserves the Bill for the signification of His Majesty’s pleasure Provided that the Governor – General may in his discretion return the Bill to the Chambers with a message requesting that they will reconsider the Bill or any specified provisions thereof and, in particular, will consider the desirability of introducing any such amendments as he may recommend in his message, and the Chambers shall reconsider the Bill accordingly.
(2) A Bill reserved for the signification of His Majesty’s pleasure shall not become an Act of the Federal Legislature unless and until, within twelve months from the day on which it was presented to the Governor- General, the Governor-General makes known by public notification that His Majesty has assented thereto.
(3) Any Act assented to by the Governor-General may be disallowed by His Majesty within twelve months from the day of the Governor-General’s assent, and where any Act is so disallowed the Governor-General shall forthwith make the disallowance known by public notification, and as from the date of the notification the Act shall become void.
