CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY
A 389-member body responsible for drafting India’s Constitution.

COMMITTEES
Committees were created by the Constituent Assembly comprising smaller groups of members delegated with various responsibilities.

CONGRESS ASSEMBLY PARTY
An unofficial forum consisting of Assembly members belonging to the Indian National Congress that met on the side-lines of the Assembly.

19. One half of the number of members of the Senate in each Province shall be elected by proportional representation every three years from a panel constituted as hereinafter mentioned:Provided however that the first elections shall be held according to the provisions in Schedule 4.
